Gulzar Tahirova

Gulzar Tahirova has extensive experience in economic research and policy analysis, currently serving as Deputy Director at the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan since January 2009. Previous positions include Head of Division, Senior Economist, and Lead Economist within the Economic Development Research Department. Key interests encompass institutional economics, macroeconomics, and economic development, with specialization in macro and monetary policy diagnostics and economic modeling. Prior roles include scientific work at the Institute of Cybernetics, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, focusing on macroeconomic development policy, and econometric modeling at the Center for Economic Reforms. Gulzar holds a Master's degree in Methods for Optimization and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Baku State University, as well as a PhD in Economics from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
