Shaina Zurlin

Shaina Zurlin, LCSW, PsyD has a diverse work experience in the field of behavioral health and healthcare leadership. Shaina currently works as the Principal Consultant at Zurlin Collaborative since August 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Behavioral Health Director at the Central California Alliance for Health starting in July 2022. From December 2020 to September 2022, they were a CHCF Health Care Leadership Fellow at the California Health Care Foundation. Shaina also served as the Chief of Medi-Cal Behavioral Health Division at the California Department of Health Care Services between January 2021 and July 2022. Before that, they worked as the Chief of Substance Use Disorder Services at the County of Santa Cruz from June 2017 to December 2020. Shaina has also held the role of Managing Director of San Diego County at HealthRIGHT 360 from August 2006 to May 2017. Additionally, they gained experience as a Clinical Social Work Intern at North End Waterfront Health and Leaders of Tomorrow in 2005 and 2004 respectively. Shaina started their career as a Senior Case Manager at Gilead Community Services, Inc. in 2002.

Shaina Zurlin, LCSW, PsyD, completed their education at several prominent institutions. Shaina obtained a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from California Southern University between 2015 and 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree specializing in Clinical Social Work from Simmons University from 2004 to 2006. Shaina'sundergraduate studies were completed at Marlboro College, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from 1999 to 2002.

In addition to their educational accomplishments, Shaina holds certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from Integris Performance Advisors, which they obtained in 2020. Shaina also possesses a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) credential from the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University, with an expected completion date in 2023.
