Karen Chaput

Karen Chaput has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 1996, they worked as a Video Producer at Matthews Media Group where they produced and edited videos for various health topics. Karen also acted as a traffic coordinator for the graphic design department. From 1998 to 2000, they worked as a Video Producer at Pacific Heritage Foundation.

In 2000, they joined Glenn Construction as a Contract Specialist, where they compiled and maintained contracts, answered phones, scheduled calendars, and coordinated events. From 2002 to 2005, they worked at the White House Communications Agency as a Video Editor/Master Control Technician, producing and editing videos for the White House website and working on content strategy.

Karen then joined the Peace Corps in 2005 as a Video Production Manager, where they produced, directed, and edited videos for recruiting Peace Corps volunteers. Karen also coordinated international trips with the Peace Corps Director.

From 2013 to 2017, they worked at the Library of Congress as a Lead Multimedia Specialist, producing, directing, and editing videos for the library's website and coordinating camera crews, graphic artists, and video editors.

In 2019, they joined GuideSpark as a Producer, working as a liaison between customers and the in-house creative team to deliver multimedia content. Karen managed all aspects of content projects and collaborated with project managers.

From 2020 to 2021, they worked at Central City Concern as an Internal Communications Manager. Then, they became the Associate Director of Internal Communications until 2023. Currently, they are the Director of Communications at the same company.

Prior to their work at Central City Concern, they worked at Lanleo Productions from 2017 to 2020 as a Video Producer and Photographer, specializing in family photos, headshots, weddings, and documentary photography.

Karen Chaput received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Video Production/Anthropology from Ithaca College. Karen attended the college from 1992 to 1996.
