Tatiana Yarkova

Academic Secretary at Central European University

Tatiana Yarkova is CEU's interim Academic Secretary. She supports the operation of CEU governance bodies – the Board of Trustees, the Senate, and the Academic Forum. Under the direction of the Provost and Pro-Rector, she coordinates institutional assessment, quality assurance, and CEU’s institutional and program accreditation in the U.S. and in Austria. Tatiana also supports the development and implementation of CEU's academic policies.

Prior to 2012, Tatiana worked as Deputy Director of CEU’s Special and Extension Programs, where she supervised a range of faculty and curriculum development programs. Prior to joining CEU in 2006, Tatiana taught sociology at the American University-Central Asia and worked as an academic leader in sociology at the Central Asian Resource Center.

She holds an MA in Society and Politics from CEU and Lancaster University in the UK, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Graduate School for Social Research in Poland.
