Leah Porrata has a diverse work experience in the field of education and theatre. Leah started their career as a Theater Director at Greenwood Trails in 2011, where they taught theater classes and directed children's plays. Leah then worked as a Nanny for the Miller family in 2012, caring for two children. In 2013, they had multiple teaching roles, including being a Drama/Theatre Pre-Service Teacher at Columbus City Schools, where they taught theater classes for middle school students and gained experience working with hard of hearing and deaf students. Leah also worked as a Drama/Theatre Pre-Service Teacher at Dublin City Schools, teaching theater classes for high school students. During the same year, they were a Teaching Artist at Columbus Children's Theatre, teaching various theater techniques to students. Leah served as an Education Apprentice at Cleveland Play House in 2013, where they co-created curriculum and managed budgets for a school residency program. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Director of Education at Gulfshore Playhouse, where they created and directed theater programs for students of various ages. In 2016, they became the Theater Director at Orangewood Christian School, where they taught theater classes and directed productions for students in grades K-12. Leah's most recent position (as of 2017) is Director of Education and Youth Programs at Central Florida Community Arts, where they oversee and manages various educational and youth programs.
Leah Porrata attended Hilliard Davidson High School from 2005 to 2009, but did not receive a degree or specialize in any field during this time. Later, from 2009 to 2013, Leah attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Education and English.
Additionally, Leah Porrata has obtained several certifications, including CPR/AED/First Aid Certification for Pediatric and Adult from the American Red Cross, which they obtained in December 2015. Leah also holds a Teaching Certification in Drama/Theatre, Grades Pre-K through 12, issued by the Ohio Department of Education, but the specific details of when and where they obtained this certification are not provided.
