Gina Haspel

Gina C. Haspel was officially sworn in as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on May 18, 2018. She manages the Agency’s intelligence collection, analysis, and covert action, counterintelligence, and liaison relationships with foreign services.

Director Haspel is a career intelligence officer, having joined the CIA in 1985. She served seven field tours, including several as Chief of Station. In Washington, she has held numerous senior leadership positions, including Deputy Director of the CIA, Acting Director of the National Clandestine Service, Deputy Director of the National Clandestine Service, and Deputy Director of the National Clandestine Service for Foreign Intelligence and Covert Action.
