Tom Dews

Senior Lawyer - Projects at Central Land Council

Tom Dews is a Regional Lawyer at the Central Land Council, focusing on land rights and native title matters in various communities of the West region since July 2022. Previously, Tom served as an Associate to the Aboriginal Land Commissioner, the Hon John Mansfield AM KC, at the National Indigenous Australians Agency, facilitating land claims under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act. Tom's earlier roles included positions as a Paralegal at Dunwoodie Legal and Herbert Smith Freehills, as well as an Aurora Legal Intern at the Northern Land Council, where legal work involved the Aboriginal Land Rights and Native Title Acts. Tom holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of International and Global Studies from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia, and additional international studies experience.
