David Stairs is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in design and education. Currently serving as the Director of "Digging the Suez Canal With A Teaspoon," the first documentary feature focusing on social design, David has also been the Editor for the Design-Altruism-Project since March 2006, an initiative aimed at redefining design's purposes in a complex world. As the Executive Director of Designers Without Borders since January 2001, David leads a consortium that provides volunteer design support to developing institutions. Additionally, David has been the Coordinator of Graphic Design at Central Michigan University since August 1994. Educational credentials include an MFA in Communication Design from the University of Oregon and a BFA in Printmaking and Design from the Rhode Island School of Design.
