Heather Polinsky

Heather Polinsky serves as the Director of the School of Communication, Journalism, & Media at Central Michigan University, a role that involves overseeing the integration of three academic departments into a cohesive unit covering communication, journalism, media, and strategic communication. With extensive teaching experience, Heather instructs courses in audio production, media theory, quantitative research methods, and telecommunication policy, and has contributed to creative projects such as the CMU College of Medicine audio podcasts. Previously, Heather held positions including Director of the School of Broadcast & Cinematic Arts and has produced impactful content like the Shifting Mindsets for Better Health podcast series. Educationally, Heather holds a Ph.D. in Mass Media from Michigan State University, an M.A. in Communication & Journalism from the University of Wyoming, and a B.S. in Telecommunications from Ohio University.
