Central Park Conservancy
Lisa Timmel is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in theater and ecology. Currently serving as a Natural Areas Technician II at the Central Park Conservancy since March 2021, Lisa is involved in the maintenance of native plant meadows and the management of park natural areas. Previously, as Creator and Co-Director of Theater-19, Lisa documented the experiences of theater workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Experience also includes significant roles such as Managing Director/Producer at Bated Breath Theatre Company and Director of New Work at Huntington Theatre Company, where innovative play development and programming were prioritized. Lisa has taught at renowned institutions such as Columbia University and the University of Cincinnati, specializing in contemporary American playwrights. Educational credentials include an MFA in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism from Columbia University and a BA in English from Kenyon College.
