Chad Joyce has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Chad currently serves as the Chief Information and Records Officer at Centre County Government since January 2019. Chad has also worked at the University of Virginia as an Adjunct Faculty, specializing in Cybersecurity, starting from January 2020.

Prior to these roles, Chad Joyce held the position of Director of IT and HR at J.J. Powell Inc/Snappy's Convenience Stores. In this role from September 2016 to December 2018, they oversaw the strategic direction, operations, planning, technical support, benefits administration, personnel, and budget for IT and HR. Chad developed an IT roadmap for long-term technology requirements and implemented an enterprise-wide technological strategy.

Before joining J.J. Powell Inc, Chad worked at Pennsylvania State University from 2012 to 2018. Chad served as an IT Manager, managing three units that supported and maintained computer labs, provided software tutoring, hardware support, data migration, and virus detection to faculty, staff, and students. Chad also held the position of IT Specialist, assisting in the launch and expansion of LabChat services.

Chad Joyce began their career as a Technician at Restek Corporation from March 2011 to July 2012. Chad also served as a Corrections Lieutenant at Centre County Government from May 2005 to March 2011.

Chad Joyce completed their Master of Professional Studies (M.P.S.) in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Penn State University, where they studied from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, Joyce earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Criminal Justice and History from Eastern New Mexico University, attending from 1998 to 2004. Additionally, in August 2014, they obtained the ITIL v3.0 Foundation Certification.

Centre County Government

A fourth-class county created by an act of the State Legislature in 1800 and located in the exact geographic center of the state, Centre County’s key industries include tourism, retail, agriculture, electronics, chromatography, information technology, printing, and publishing, wood manufacturing, and education. The fifth largest PA County in geographic size, the county’s land area covers 1,110 square miles and is comprised of 35 municipalities.
