Jim Kennedy

Jim Kennedy has extensive experience in the field of neuroscience, clinical psychiatry, and molecular genetics. Jim has held various positions throughout their career including Head at The Tanenbaum Centre for Pharmacogenetics since 2011, a Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Psychiatry since 1991, and Director of the Molecular Brain Science Department at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) since 2000. Jim'smain research focus has been on identifying susceptibility genes for psychiatric disorders.

Jim Kennedy attended York University from 1974 to 1979, where they received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) in Psychobiology and Neurochemistry. Jim then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Calgary from 1981 to 1984. Following this, from 1985 to 1988, they enrolled in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Yale University School of Medicine. Subsequently, they completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Human Genetics at Yale University School of Medicine from 1988 to 1991.
