Asma Ahmed is a seasoned professional in democratic governance and humanitarian dialogue with extensive experience in program management and advisory roles. Currently serving as the Sudan Program Manager at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue since July 2022, Asma previously held positions including Program Advisor for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law at the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa from August 2018 to February 2022, and Program Manager at the Sudan Democracy First Group from January 2016 to August 2019. Asma's background also includes freelance research and training, as well as roles at the Gesr Center for Development and the Institute for Development of Civil Society, where expertise in democracy promotion and peacebuilding was cultivated. Asma Ahmed holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Strategic Studies from Al Zaeim Al Azhary, completed in 2008.
