Emanuel Hermann is a Project Associate at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue since June 2023. Prior to this role, Hermann served as a Policy and Research Officer at Principles for Peace from March to June 2023. Experience also includes the position of Programme Support Officer for the Principles for Peace initiative at Interpeace from November 2020 to March 2023, as well as an internship within the same initiative. Research roles include serving as a Research Assistant at Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate, focusing on natural resource governance and human security in post-conflict societies, and a Research Consultant at ICVA, where a report on security risk management in the humanitarian sector was produced. Earlier experience includes leading a research team on conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa at Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research and conducting research at GIGA and Amnesty International. Hermann holds a Master in Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & History from Heidelberg University.

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) works to prevent and resolve armed conflicts around the world through mediation and discreet diplomacy.
