Directeur De Musée National D'art Moderne-centre De Création Industrielle at Centre Pompidou

Xavier Rey currently serves as the Directeur de Musée national d'art moderne-Centre de création industrielle at the Centre Pompidou since October 2021. Previously, Xavier held the position of Directeur des Musées de Marseille from February 2017 to October 2021 and served as Directeur des collections at the Musée d'Orsay from July 2010 to January 2017, where responsibilities included leading the scientific direction committee and overseeing the painting collection. Early career experiences include roles as a Conservateur and Conservateur du patrimoine stagiaire in various esteemed institutions, such as the Institut National du Patrimoine and the Louvre. Xavier has also contributed to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston as a Curatorial Fellow and was involved in exhibition projects at the Musée des Confluences. Educational qualifications include advanced degrees from Ecole normale supérieure, HEC Paris, and Université de Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, with a strong focus on art history, cultural management, and conservation.
