Alexander Anderson

Alexander Anderson is an experienced communications and public affairs professional currently serving as the Head of Public Affairs and Group Deputy Head of Corporate Communication at Centrica since January 2016. As a Council Member for the Confederation of British Industry from January 2019 to February 2025, Alexander contributed to CBI Scotland Council. Additionally, as a member of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce Business Advisory Group from April 2019 to March 2024, Alexander provided insights on business issues. Previously, Alexander held influential roles within the Scottish Government, including Senior Special Adviser to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, overseeing key portfolios such as Transport, Infrastructure, and Rural Affairs, as well as serving as Special Adviser and Official Spokesperson to former First Minister Alex Salmond. Alexander’s early career included leadership in press and communication roles for the Scottish National Party and a position as Senior Parliamentary Assistant at the Scottish Parliament.
