Centro de la Familia de Utah (Centro) is a nonprofit agency dedicated to promoting educational success for children and families and fostering healthy and engaged communities. Working with children and families for over 43 years, Centro has excelled at managing early outreach and educational programs among underserved communities in both urban and rural areas. Today, Centro operates five rural Head Start centers and nine Head Start childcare partnership as well as a portfolio of outcome-based programs for elementary, middle and high school students, and programs for adults that provide the tools and skills necessary for self-sufficiency. Centro impacts underserved communities through services founded on three core competencies: parent engagement, providing the best full-year standardized programs in underserved rural communities, and engaging staff in meaningful professional development.
