Prior to their work at CENER, Pablo Ayesa Pascual was the Director de Proyectos at the Agencia Navarra de Innovación from 2000 to 2002 and worked as Ingeniero de Manufacturing at Hewlett Packard BCD from 1996 to December 1999. Pablo Ayesa Pascual earned a PDD (Programa de Desarrollo Directivo) from the University of Navarra in 2006 and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanics from the same university, completed in 1995.

The National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) is a technology centre, specialised in applied research and in the development and promotion of renewable energies. It has excellent qualifications and recognised national and international prestige. The CENER-CIEMAT Foundation started its activity in 2002 and its Board of Trustees is comprised of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Ciemat (Research Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology), the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, and the Government of Navarra. It currently provides services and performs research work in 6 areas: Wind, Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaic, Biomass, Energy in Buildings and Renewable Energy Grid Integration. CENER has cutting-edge technological infrastructures, with the most modern laboratories and facilities in the world. The Wind Turbine Test Laboratory (the only one of its kind in the world), the Experimental Wind Farm, the 2nd Generation Biofuel Centre and a Microgrid deserve a special mention.
