Myrna Yvette Peralta, President and CEO of CentroNía, a 30 years old nationally recognized bilingual, multicultural learning center. She has over thirty-five years of experience in leadership development and organizational management. Prior to joining CentroNia, Ms. Peralta consulted on leadership development and program and policy strategies in the education, health and housing arenas, technical assistance on community programs, project management services, and resources development at the international, national and local levels. Her professional career has included serving as Executive Director for DC Children and Youth Investment Trust, Deputy Director of the Center for Community Change, Senior Associate with the National Association of Social Workers and Associate and Director level positions with the American Red Cross. Ms. Peralta has a strong commitment to community service. Over her professional career she has served on multiple Boards and Commissions, including the United Way and, for 10 years, as a Trustee of the DC Public Library. She currently serves on the DC Library Foundation Board. Ms. Peralta received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. She was born in New York, raised in Puerto Rico but after 35 years of living in the District of Columbia she most definitely calls DC her home.
