Katie Bernstein

Katie Bernstein, CIA, currently serves as the Vice President of Internal Audit at Century Communities, Inc., where responsibilities include establishing the internal audit plan, managing a hybrid team, and transforming the audit function to support the company's financial and operational effectiveness. Previously, Katie was the Director of Internal Audit at Summit Materials, where an Enterprise Risk Management program was initiated, and the internal control structure was enhanced. At Newmont Mining Corporation, leadership of global internal audit teams led to improved risk assessments and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Prior roles also include Director of Control Quality at Gates Corporation, where a new control self-assessment program was developed, and Senior Manager of Internal Audit at Tomkins plc, focusing on internal audit function creation. Katie began a career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing audit process reviews and risk assessments across various industries, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Studies from the University of Michigan.
