Steve Carstens, DO, FACEP has had a diverse work experience. Steve began their career in 1996 as an Attending and Medical Director at Delano Regional Medical Center. In 1999, they joined CEP America, where they served as the Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine from 2008 to 2013. During their time at CEP America, they worked at one of the largest regional referral centers in the Central Valley, overseeing a trauma receiving facility with a high patient volume. Additionally, they served as the President of the Tulare County Medical Society from 2008 to 2012.

Steve Carstens, DO, FACEP completed their education as follows:

- From 1993 to 1996, they attended Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA, where they completed their Residency in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

- Steve obtained their Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from Western University of Health Sciences, where they studied from 1988 to 1992, focusing on medicine.

- In 1981 and 1982, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside.

- From 1976 to 1980, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at Loyola Marymount University, specializing in biology and chemistry.
