Ruth Nydia Venegas

Ruth Nydia Venegas, MPH, currently serves as the Early Childhood Intervention Coordinator at the Office of Community Engagement and Neighborhood Health Partnerships, and has been involved in various roles at the University of Illinois Chicago since 2013. In the NOHE Research Group, Ruth collaborates on projects aimed at enhancing breastfeeding support and policies within Cook County communities. As a Nutrition Peer Educator, Ruth delivers educational programming to low-income families, while also managing community affairs and partnerships. Additionally, Ruth functions as a Marketing Specialist for the Chicago Region Breastfeeding Task Force, where efforts are focused on increasing breastfeeding visibility among low-income women. Previous experience includes contributing to initiatives with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Chicago Diabetes Empowerment Center. Ruth holds a Master of Public Health in Public Health Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Health and Wellness from Northeastern Illinois University.
