Joel Vazquez

Joel Vazquez has extensive experience in automation engineering, currently serving as Sr. Manager of Automation Controls, Electrical & Safety Engineering at Cepheid since February 2011. In this role, Joel oversees the Equipment Automation Engineering Electrical and Controls team, focusing on electrical and safety design for high-volume manufacturing equipment, as well as the design and programming of various systems including SCADA, HMI, PLC, and Vision Inspection Systems. Prior to this, Joel held positions as a Sr. Automation Controls Engineer and Automation Controls Engineer, contributing to equipment validation and mentoring less experienced engineers. Earlier experience includes a role as Sr. Controls Engineer at LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson Company, where responsibilities encompassed the design and qualification testing of medical device manufacturing equipment and project management for new and modified processes.
