Valentina Bernasconi

Valentina Bernasconi, PhD, MGH, serves as the Head of the Laboratory Science Group within the Laboratory Research and Innovations department at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) since April 2019. Valentina leads a team focused on the CEPI Centralized Laboratory Network, the Systems Immunology Network, predictive modeling projects, and the development of biological standards and assays for priority pathogens including SARS-CoV-2. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral position at the University of Gothenburg and roles as a scientist at MIVAC Development AB, Crucell, and Libera Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, highlighting expertise in vaccine development and immunology research. Valentina holds a PhD in Immunology from the University of Gothenburg, an MSc in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and additional degrees in biotechnology.
