Senior Vice President at Cerba Research

Rene' Wheat-Register has an extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. As of August 2022, they hold the position of Senior Vice President at Cerba Research. Prior to this, Rene' worked at Pharm-Olam, LLC as the Global Head of Infectious Diseases and Vaccine, leading a global team to secure the first full European Medicines Agency approval of an inactivated adjuvant COVID-19 vaccine.

From 2016 to 2020, Rene' served as the Infectious Diseases Lead at ICON plc, where they led teams to secure several novel anti-viral vaccine regulatory approvals globally. During their tenure, they also played a key role in securing global approval for the first treatment and cure for X-Linked Hypophosphatemia.

Before joining ICON plc, Rene' worked at PPD from 1998 to 2016, initially as the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and later as the Senior Director of Global Project Management & Strategic Partnerships. At PPD, they led teams to secure global regulatory approval of seven NDAs across various therapeutic areas, making significant contributions to the healthcare and treatment options for patients worldwide.

Rene' also has experience working at Duke University Medical Center as a Physiologist, managing programs for physically challenged individuals and conducting stress testing for patients. Rene' also worked at Duke University as a Cardiovascular Specialist, collaborating with special populations patients and the university staff to achieve overall wellness goals.

Additionally, Rene' has served as an Ocean Rescue Team & Volunteer Firefighter at the Wrightsville Beach Volunteer Firefighters Association and as a Physiologist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where they developed and implemented a wellness program and worked on the development of a pulmonary rehabilitation program.

Early in their career, Rene' was part of the student wellness advisory team at Appalachian State University.

Rene' Wheat-Register's education history consists of various programs and degrees. In 1990, they attended Appalachian State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General. Later, from 1994 to 1997, they worked as an intern at The Johns Hopkins University, focusing on Health and Wellness, General. Additionally, they pursued further education in international business by completing a Global Business Management Certificate program at University College Dublin in 2017. Rene' also attended the Willow Creek Association Global Leadership Summit from 2015 to 2021, focusing on Leadership. In 2015, they obtained a Leadership Certification through the LEAD Strategy Program with an emphasis on Global Leadership. Currently, Rene' is a doctoral candidate at Campbell University, studying Pharmacy & Health Sciences with an expected graduation date in 2023.

Rene' Wheat-Register has additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support obtained from the American Heart Association in May 1996. Rene' is also a BLS instructor with the Red Cross Blood Services and holds a PWACE instructor certification from the Arthritis Foundation. Furthermore, they have obtained a Phlebotomy certification from Durham County Hospital Corp.
