Silke Proesmans has a diverse work experience. In 2023, they worked as a Scientific Liaison at Cerba Research. Prior to that, they held the role of Head of Youth Leaders at Vlaamse Dienst Speelpleinwerk (VDS) vzw from 2011 to 2023. In this role, they managed a team of youth leaders, communicated with parents and the municipality, organized meetings, and handled financial management. Silke also worked as a Youth Leader at the same organization from 2011 to 2023, where they created activities and games for children, provided supervision and guidance, and participated in team meetings.
From 2016 to 2019, Silke served as a Piano Teacher at RMS Muziekcentrum. Additionally, they worked as a Youth Leader at Stella-Matutinacollege Lede from 2009 to 2019, focusing specifically on the circus school. Lastly, Silke had a student job as a Logistics Assistant at UZ Gent in 2017, where they performed various tasks such as cleaning hospital beds and medical devices, monitoring freezer temperatures, and managing medical equipment.
Silke Proesmans began their education at the Gemeentelijke Academie voor Muziek en Woord Lede, where they obtained Grade 1, 2, and 3 in Piano from 2003 to 2013. Silke then attended Stella-Matutinacollege Lede, where they earned their High School Diploma with a focus on Latin, Mathematics, and Sciences from 2007 to 2013.
Continuing their academic pursuits, Silke enrolled at Ghent University and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from 2013 to 2016. Silke followed this with a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from 2016 to 2018, both at Ghent University.
Silke is currently working towards their PhD at Ghent University, where they have been a PhD student since 2018. Silke is expected to complete their PhD in Health Sciences in October 2022.
In addition to their formal education, Silke has obtained several certifications. In 2011, they received a Certificate as a "Youth Leader" from Vlaamse Dienst Speelpleinwerk (VDS) vzw. Silke went on to earn a Certificate as "Head of Youth Leaders" from the same institution in 2018. In 2016, Silke obtained a Certificate in Laboratory Animal Science from Ghent University.
Among their academic achievements, Silke Proesmans has obtained various degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, and they will soon complete their PhD in Health Sciences.
