Svetlana Lima has a diverse work experience spanning different fields and roles. Svetlana began their career as a Curricular externship at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Later, they worked as a relief research support staff at Universidade Federal de Goiás from 2011 to 2013. Svetlana then pursued a PhD at Cornell University from 2013 to 2017, during which they also served as a teaching assistant for the "Pathogenic Bacteriology" course. Following their PhD, they worked at Weill Cornell Medicine from 2017 to 2023, holding positions such as a postdoctoral associate in medicine and establishing the Weill Cornell Microbiome Core Facility. Svetlana'swork in drug development and FDA regulations at Weill Cornell Medicine provided their with expertise in GLP, GCP, and GMP processes. Currently, Svetlana is working as a scientific liaison at Cerba Research.
Svetlana Lima began their education in 2007 at Universidade Federal de Goiás, where they pursued a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Svetlana attended the university for a period of five years, completing their studies in 2012. Following this, Svetlana Lima went on to enroll at Cornell University in 2013. Over the course of four years, they focused on Animal Science, Epidemiology, and Microbiology/Microbiome Science, and eventually obtained their PhD from Cornell University in 2017.
