Erik B Dam

Erik B Dam has a vast work experience spanning multiple organizations. Currently, they hold the position of Professor at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen since September 2021. Prior to this, they co-founded Cerebriu A/S in 2018 and served as a Co-founder.

From 2017 to 2021, Erik worked at the Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen - DIKU as an Associate Professor & Head of Data Science Lab (CS). Before that, they co-founded Biomediq A/S in 2011 and worked as a Senior Researcher.

In 2009, Erik joined Synarc Imaging Technologies as a Senior Researcher and remained there until 2011. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Senior Researcher at Nordic Bioscience Imaging, where they led the Osteoarthritis group in the Imaging department, focusing on research and project management related to biomarkers from MRI for clinical trials on OA treatments.

Earlier in their career, Erik worked as an Assistant Research Professor at IT University of Copenhagen from 2004 to 2006, conducting research in the Osteoarthritis Project and focusing on automated analysis of MR scans for quantifying the progression of OA. Erik B also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Copenhagen in 1999.

Prior to their academic roles, Erik gained industry experience as a Software Developer/Consultant at Delfin Software A/S from 1996 to 1999.

Erik B Dam completed their Master of Science (M.Sc) in Computer Science from the University of Copenhagen, Københavns Universitet, from 1991 to 1999. Erik B went on to pursue a Ph.D in Medical Image Analysis from IT-Universitetet i København from 2001 to 2003.
