Manuel Varela

Manuel Varela is a Mechanical Engineer at Ceres Power since April 2021, having previously worked as a Module Battery Build Engineer at ALTEN LTD in the UK, where support was provided for prototype battery builds for Jaguar Land Rover's electrification developments. Prior experience includes roles in design and stress analysis for Airbus on the A350, A320, and A330 programs, production quality operations for the Airbus Defence and Space MRTT program, and analysis of desalination plants with FCC Servicios Ciudadanos. Manuel has an academic background that includes degrees in Airframe Technology and Materials Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as a Master's in Professional Development and Innovation in Business Administration from Universidad de Alcalá. Additional education includes a program on the synthesis and characterization of thin films and coatings at CSIC.
