Morten Østlie has extensive work experience in the IT industry. Morten worked at Cermaq Group AS, starting as a Consultant in August 2009 and eventually becoming the Head of Global IT in January 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Orkla Shared Services as a Department Manager and Project Manager. Morten also worked at Elkem Shared Services, holding various roles such as Department Manager and Senior Consultant. Morten Østlie started their career at Elkem Shared Services in 1983 and has remained in the IT industry throughout their career.

Morten Østlie's education history begins in 1968 when they attended Tåsen Skole. Morten then went on to attend Berg Videregående Skole from 1977 to 1980, where they obtained their Artium degree. From 1981 to 1983, Morten Østlie studied at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and earned a degree in Engineering with a focus on Computer studies. Continuing their education, from 1983 to 1985, they attended BI Norwegian Business School and obtained a degree in Bedriftsøkonom, specializing in Economics. Additionally, Morten Østlie has obtained certifications such as Prince2 Foundation from PEOPLECERT in May 2016, Togaf Foundation from The Open Group in December 2015, and ITIL Foundation from PEOPLECERT in August 2015.
