Chris Hartley currently serves as the Head of Department for Industry, Procurement, Knowledge Transfer, and European Support at CERN, a position held since July 2021. Previously, Chris Hartley accumulated significant experience at EUMETSAT from May 2000 to 2021, where roles included Meteosat Third Generation System Manager, Meteosat Third Generation Ground Segment Manager, and Polar System Ground Segment System Engineering Team Leader. Prior to that, Chris Hartley worked at ANITE SYSTEMS HOLDINGS LIMITED from May 1991 to April 2000, managing projects such as the Envisat Mission Control System for ESA and the Cordoba Ground Station for the Argentine Space Agency, alongside a stint as a Software Engineer. Chris Hartley's career began at BAE Systems as a Software Engineer from May 1988 to May 1991. Chris Hartley holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield and has furthered education at Hult Ashridge Executive Education.
