Pierre Hanf

Pierre Hanf is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in refrigeration and cooling systems, currently serving as a staff member and project leader for the Cooling & Refrigeration Chillers Initiative at CERN since October 2018. With a solid foundation in engineering, Hanf developed a Global Refrigerant Strategy and led the project management for the ATLAS & CMS detectors' CO2 primary cooling upgrade, emphasizing safety and regulatory compliance. Prior to CERN, Hanf held significant roles at Nestlé, Dalkia Smart Building, and Axima Réfrigération France, focusing on corporate refrigerant policies, project management, and enhancing operational efficiency while cultivating a skilled team of technicians. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning from INSA Strasbourg and a Technical Degree from Université Joseph Fourier in Thermal and Energy.
