Uttiya Sarkar

Uttiya Sarkar, PhD, is a highly experienced researcher currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at RWTH Aachen University since May 2023. With a significant tenure at CERN as a Researcher since January 2017, Uttiya has also held postdoctoral positions at École Polytechnique and CNRS from April 2021 to April 2023. Previous research experience includes a role as a Researcher at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai from July 2015 to April 2021 and a Visiting Researcher position at Fermilab in early 2019. Uttiya completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (2015-2020), followed by postdoctoral work at École Polytechnique (2021-2023). Additional academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (2013-2015), and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from The University of Burdwan (2010-2013).
