Adam J. Simon is the President & CEO of Cerora. He is the vision and drive behind the Company’s mission to make a major positive impact in brain health assessment globally, starting with an initial focus on concussion. Diagnosed with dyslexia as a child, he carries a passion to understand the brain at a deeper level. He holds a PhD in physics from the University of Chicago in non-linear dynamical systems and has conducted post-doctoral research on the physics - biology interface at Princeton University, NEC Research Institute, and the Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris, France). Dr. Simon worked at Merck Research Laboratories for 13 years where he focused on drug discovery and pre-clinical neuroscience biomarkers, leading the BACE inhibitor biology team. Following Merck, he has been consulting to pharmaceutical and biotech companies as an internationally recognized expert in Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers and companion diagnostics, including before both the FDA and EMA. Dr. Simon ran three other startups including two in the neuroscience space before founding and focusing his efforts on Cerora. He has over 65 peer reviewed publications, four issued patents, and over 15 patent applications pending.
