Lead Software Engineer at Certain Affinity

Paul Evans has a diverse and extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Paul started their career as a Programmer at various companies during their time at university. After that, they worked as an Analyst Programmer at DS Limited, where they gained experience in creating software and gamified learning experiences. Paul then joined Lionhead Studios (Microsoft) as a Programmer, working on various projects such as Fable II, Fable III, and Fable Journey. During their time at Lionhead Studios, they also led the Milo & Kate central editor team.

After leaving Lionhead Studios, Paul worked at Portalarium as a Senior Programmer, coding in C# for server and tools, and ActionScript for client code. Paul also led the feature team that switched the server from SimpleDB to CouchBase 1. Paul then worked as a Freelance Programmer, contracting for an educational mobile phone game.

In 2013, Paul joined sonarDesign, Inc. as a Senior Software Developer and founding member of the company. Paul led key features in the online content and game editor, including animation, and contributed to the development of the animation system.

In 2015, they joined MaxPlay as a Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed asset conditioning code and coordinated delivery of features across different locations. Paul also took point on Perforce integrations and drove adoption of automated testing.

Paul's most recent work experience is at Certain Affinity, where they have been working since 2016 as a Lead Software Engineer. Paul has worked on game titles using Unreal, C++, and Blueprint, focusing on gameplay and performance. Paul has also worked as the lead engineer for Hearthstone, using Unity, C#, and C++.

Paul Evans attended Solent University from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Studies.
