Matt Porter

Matt Porter, P.G. has extensive experience in the mining industry, currently serving as the Mining Development Manager for CertainTeed since July 2016, where responsibilities include overseeing operations and expanding mining prospects in the Eastern United States. Previous roles at CertainTeed include Mine Manager, where operational efficiency was achieved during the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining customer deliveries, and Mine Superintendent, recognized for significant cost savings and enhanced production outcomes. Earlier positions featured geologic expertise at PacifiCorp and Precision Wells, where oversight of geological operations, drilling, and prospect development were key responsibilities. Matt Porter holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Arkansas.
