Michelle D Gasbarro has over 30 years of work experience in the engineering field. Michelle D began their career in 1985 as a Senior Structural Engineer at Alcoa, where they worked on automotive product design and development through finite-element-based computational methods (simulation) using explicit-transient-dynamic solvers. In 1997, they moved to MDG SOLUTIONS, Inc., where they served as Director of Product Development. Her role included developing military survivability and fortification solutions for full military vehicle structures (wheeled and tracked), sub-systems, and blast/ballistics armoring systems. In 2011, they became an Associate Engineering Consultant at CertaSIM, LLC, where they provided consulting expertise with CertaSIM, LLC and its IMPETUS Afea Solver. Finally, in 2018, they joined SAIC as a Systems Engineer Chief.
Michelle D Gasbarro obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh between 1990 and 1995. Michelle D then went on to obtain a Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University between 2003 and 2006. In November 2016, they obtained a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification from NWBOC.
