Rick Johal, CAE, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada since March 2021, overseeing association operations and delivering on strategic priorities set by the Board of Directors. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Advisor at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, managing key policy areas, and Director of Member & Sector Relations at AMCTO, where advocacy efforts led to significant legislative changes. Johal has held various positions, including Manager of Corporate Development & Risk Management for the City of Kitchener and Senior Policy Advisor within Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development. Academic achievements include a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McMaster University.
