Jamie founded CertifiKID (with her husband Brian) after years of writing a popular Washington, DC-area blog geared to moms looking for affordable things to do with their kids. A self-professed “Expert Deal Finder”, Jamie was an early follower of daily deal websites but recognized a huge void in the market for deals geared to families. While many sites offered discounts on things like spas and restaurants, there wasn’t anything out there for parents looking for fun, affordable things to do with their kids.
Over the past decade, Jamie and Brian have grown CertifiKID from a regional website to a coast-to-coast powerhouse in the family-focused deal market. Jamie was named one of the region’s Top 40 Under 40 “Brightest Young Business Leaders” by The Washington Business Journal and one of Greater Washington’s top women business leaders by Washington SmartCEO. CertifiKID has also been featured in numerous media outlets and publications, including The Washington Post, The Washington Business Journal, Washingtonian, CNBC, NBC4 News, Fox5 News, WUSA 9 News, ABC2 News, Baltimore Business Journal, and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Jamie and Brian’s goal for CertifiKID remains the same since they started the company at their kitchen table: To allow parents to find and save on the best experiences for their families, while building relationships with local businesses that last beyond the initial transaction.
