Michael Coombs

Michael Coombs has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michael is currently working as the CFO at Certn since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the EVP of Finance at Ripcord from 2021 to 2023. Michael also worked as the Sr. Director of Corporate FP&A at NEXT Trucking from 2020 to 2021 and as the Director of Corporate FP&A at JUUL Labs from 2019 to 2020. Before that, they held various roles at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, including CFO of the Mainstream BU from 2018 to 2019 and Director of Corporate FP&A from 2014 to 2018.

Michael also has experience in the finance sector, having worked as a Director of Corporate Finance at JH Investments from 2012 to 2013 and as a Vice President at RBC Capital Markets from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they worked in the Restructuring Group at UBS as a Director from 2008 to 2009 and as an Associate Director from 2006 to 2008. Michael started their career as an Associate at Wachovia Securities in 2005.

In the early stages of their career, they worked as a Solutions Architect in Professional Services at DWL Inc from 2000 to 2003. Overall, their experience showcases their expertise in finance, corporate FP&A, and executive leadership roles.

Michael Coombs earned an MBA in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a BCS in Computer Science from Acadia University from 1998 to 2000 and a BSC Hon in Physics from Acadia University from 1993 to 1997. Michael also attended Dalhousie University from 1993 to 1995.
