Maurício Barros

Maurício Barros is a seasoned tax law professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles within the legal and academic sectors. Currently serving as a partner at Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados since December 2023, Maurício also holds positions as a senior researcher at Núcleo de Estudos Fiscais - NEF/FGV Direito São Paulo and as the president of the Taxation Committee of the Digital Economy at ABAT since September 2020. Additional roles include coordinator of the Taxation Core of the Legal Committee at ITALCAM and director at ANEFAC. Previous experience includes teaching at IBDT and serving as a tax partner and partner at Demarest Advogados and Gaia, Silva, Gaede Advogados, respectively. Maurício has held judicial positions at the Tribunal de Impostos e Taxas de São Paulo and was an active member of the OAB/SP's Administrative Tax Litigation Committee. Academically, Maurício has earned a Ph.D. in Economic, Budgetary and Tax Law from USP, a Master's in Tax Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, and specialized in Tax Law, showcasing a solid foundation in the field.
