Peter Vaessen

Peter Vaessen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in high voltage technology and innovation management. Currently serving as the Innovation Manager at KEMA Laboratories within CESI SpA since January 2020, Peter leads innovation initiatives. Concurrently, Peter holds the position of Professor at Delft University of Technology, focusing on hybrid transmission systems and mentoring students in high voltage technology and HVDC. Previously, Peter served as Segment Director for Future Transmission Grids at DNV GL from January 2014 to January 2020, and during a 21-year tenure at KEMA, Peter fulfilled various roles, including principal consultant and manager of the High Voltage Installation Department. Peter holds a Master’s degree in high voltage engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, where studies were completed between 1978 and 1985.
