Chris Pappas III has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their role as a Naval Flight Officer with the United States Marine Corps in 1990. In 2001, they became an FA-18 Instructor at MAWTS-1. From 2006-2009, they held various roles with the United States Marine Corps, including Executive Officer VMFA(AW)-332 & Weapons and Field Training Battalion. In 2011, they became Chief of the Joint Lessons Learned Division, J-7 at The Joint Staff. From 2013-2019, they held several roles with the United States Marine Corps, including Deputy Commander Marine Corps Warfighting Lab, Chief of Staff Marine Corps Combat Development Command, and Commanding Officer Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. In 2019, they began their current role as Vice President of Business Development and Director of Business Development and Programs at CesiumAstro, where they are responsible for marketing, sales and business development.

Chris Pappas III attended Duke University from 1986 to 1990, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In 2004, they completed a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. In 2010, they earned a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Chris also obtained certifications from the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School - TOPGUN and the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course MAWTS-1.
