Lisa M. Sensale Yazdian, Ph.D.

Lisa M. Sensale Yazdian, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Lisa M. currently serves as the Manager of Education and Engagement at CET (Cincinnati Educational Television) since April 2022.

Prior to their current role, they were a member of the Correll Book Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Informational Text committee since December 2011. In this role, they focused on recognizing and promoting exceptional informational texts for young children.

From December 2012 to April 2022, they worked at the Boone County Public Library. During their tenure, they held various positions including Youth Services Manager-Outreach and Early Literacy Specialist. Lisa was actively involved in early childhood initiatives in Boone County. Lisa M. co-chaired the Boone County Success By 6 Early Literacy Task Force from January 2007 to April 2016 and the Boone County Community Early Childhood Council (BC-CECC) from August 2008 to April 2015.

In addition to their work in public libraries, Lisa has also held adjunct positions at Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, and University of Michigan-Flint. Lisa M. taught courses on language development, emergent literacy, literacy assessment and instruction, and literacy practicum.

Lisa M. also has experience working with the Kentucky Humanities Council as a Preschool Coordinator for the Prime Time Family Reading Time program and at UC Berkeley as an Associate Literacy Specialist for the Lawrence Hall of Science Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading program.

Lisa M. Sensale Yazdian, Ph.D. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Binghamton University. Lisa M. then earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology from Michigan State University. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Ohio Early Childhood Professional-Level 3 Trainer certification from the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA) in August 2010. Lisa M. also holds the Kentucky Early Childhood Trainer's Credential-Level 3 Trainer certification, obtained in January 2011. Moreover, they obtained the Mind in the Making Learning Facilitator certification in November 2015. In December 2019, they completed the Foundations in Design Thinking course at IDEO U. In 2018, they attended Leadership Northern Kentucky. Lisa M. also attended Pelham Memorial High School at an unknown time.
