Avelino Azevedo

Avelino Azevedo has extensive experience in sports administration, education, and refereeing. Currently serving as the Presidente da CAAD at the Comité Olímpico de Portugal since March 2017, Avelino also holds leadership positions as Board President of EUPEA and with the CEV European Refereeing Commission since November 2020. Avelino is the Presidente da Direcção at CNAPEF since April 2016, amidst a long career in physical education, currently teaching at ESGN since 1982. Avelino operated as the owner of 4REF, a company specializing in referee equipment from 2012 to 2019. Previously, Avelino was an international referee with FIVB and CEV from 1978 to 2016, a journalist focusing on volleyball and sports for O Jogo from 1997 to 2006, and also played and coached volleyball at Futebol Clube do Porto from 1972 to 1989. Education includes an Associate's degree in Sports Studies from FADE, U.P. and attendance at Deutsche Schule zu Porto.
