Joep has also worked as IT Application Development/Project Lead at Flextronics Global Services and held positions in IT Application Development at Viasystems Mommers bv and van Beek Schroeftransportsystemen. An academic background includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, complemented by a Master's degree in the same field from the same institution, and foundational education at Biss. College Schondeln and Basisschool de Smelenberg.
