Rae Waxman, Ph.D., serves as the Group Leader at CFD Research Corporation, overseeing the Computational Fracture and Solid Mechanics group since December 2019, focusing on materials under extreme conditions. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Research Engineer and Research Engineer at Virginia Commonwealth University, where significant contributions involved modeling material behavior and conducting experiments on glass and ceramics. Rae's academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University, following a Master’s degree in the same field. Additional roles include internships at Idaho National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories, as well as teaching and tutoring positions that showcase a commitment to education and engineering.
