Sylvain Platevoet

Sylvain Platevoet currently serves as the Business Development and Partnerships Manager for Africa at CFI, agence française de développement médias, since January 2024. Prior to this role, Sylvain held the position of International Development and Advocacy Manager at Cartooning For Peace from March 2018 to January 2024, overseeing international programs and advocacy efforts to support press cartoonists and promote freedom of expression. Sylvain also contributed to Internews Europe as a Programme Officer, Tempora S.A. as a Senior Project Coordinator, and COWI Belgium as an International Project Manager. Starting a career in the banking sector as a Commercial Manager at BNP Paribas Fortis, Sylvain has a rich educational background with Master’s degrees in International Relations and Cultural Anthropology from Université libre de Bruxelles, complemented by various relevant certifications.
