Brigadier General (Retired) John Turnbull spent 36 years of service as an Army Signal Officer in the Canadian Forces, and 5 years as a Public Servant in the IT security business line at the Communications Security Establishment. At the time of his departure form CSE, he was Director General Cyber Protection, responsible for Cyber Assurance Standards and Policies for the Government of Canada.
Over the course of his career, John gained significant experience in all phases of defence procurement as a project manager of multiple major crown capital acquisition projects in the Land C4 ISR Program. He brings a significant expertise and understanding into current C4 ISR and IT security issues. This insight is directly relevant to the challenges the government faces in these areas.
