John McVay

John McVay has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. John started their career as an IT Intern at Experian in 1999. John then worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2000 to 2002. From 2002 to 2005, they served as a Senior Application Developer at Union Pacific Railroad, where they designed, implemented, and supported various systems.

At Union Pacific Railroad, they progressed to the role of Manager Finance Process Improvement from 2005 to 2010. In this role, they managed a team of analysts and Rapid Application Developers, leading process improvement projects and application development in the Finance/Accounting department. John also played a utility resource role in the SAP Core Financials implementation project.

From 2011 to 2015, John worked at Union Pacific Railroad as a Director - Personnel & Payroll Services. John led the formation and management of a new Payroll Services workgroup, achieving high levels of customer service quality and efficiency. John also played a key role in the implementation of SAP Time and Human Capital Management for 30,000 employees.

In 2019, John joined JM Advancement Business Services as a Contract Accountant & Business Consultant before transitioning to CFO Systems, LLC in 2019. At CFO Systems, they initially worked as a Senior Accountant and later became a Director in January 2021.

John McVay completed their education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they obtained an MBA degree in Business Management and Information Systems from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they attended Doane University from 1996 to 2000 and earned a BS degree in Information Systems and Business Administration. In addition to their formal education, John McVay has obtained several certifications, including the QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification and QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor from Intuit in 2019. John also holds the Certified Lay Servant certification from the United Methodist Church, obtained in 2012, and is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers since 2019.
